4. Son
God the eternal Son became incarnate in Jesus Christ. Through Him all things were created, the character of God is revealed, the salvation of humanity is accomplished, and the world is judged. Forever truly God, He became also truly man, Jesus the Christ. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived and experienced temptation as a human being, but perfectly exemplified the righteousness and love of God. By His miracles He manifested God’s power and was attested as God’s promised Messiah. He suffered and died voluntarily on the cross for our sins and in our place, was raised from the dead, and ascended to minister in the heavenly sanctuary in our behalf. He will come again in glory for the final deliverance of His people and the restoration of all things. ( John 1:1-3, 14; Col. 1:15-19; John 10:30; 14:9; Rom. 6:23; 2 Cor. 5:17-19; John 5:22; Luke 1:35; Phil. 2:5-11; Heb. 2:9-18; 1 Cor. 15:3, 4; Heb. 8:1, 2; John 14:1-3.)
Commentary -
Point1 of this Point4 - God the eternal Son? God created himself? I think there are many inconsistencies with this belief. To begin with, John1:17-18 says: "Because the Law was given through Moses, the undeserved kindness and the truth came to be through Jesus Christ. ... 18 No man has seen God at any time; the only-begotten god who is in the bosom [position] with the Father is the one that has explained him." Definition of Jesus is: The only-begotten Son of God, the only Son produced by Jehovah alone. ... This Son is the firstborn of all creation. He is not God. He is not Jehovah.
Romans 1:8 says: "First of all, I give thanks to my God through Jesus Christ concerning all of YOU, because YOUR faith is talked about throughout the whole world." Multiple scriptures show that Jesus was the Son of God, he is not God. He is not Jehovah.
Mark 1:24 refers to Jesus as “the Holy One of God.” And Luke 3:21 says, "Now when all the people were baptized, Jesus too was baptized. As he was praying, the heaven was opened up," Is it possible that God got baptized? 22 and the holy spirit in bodily form like a dove came down upon him, and a voice came out of heaven: “You are my Son, the beloved; I have approved you.” Did God talk to himself announcing that he was approving himself? Often we can tactfully ask, “Do you believe that God is God, that Jesus is God, and that the holy spirit is God; yet, there are not three Gods but one God?” As a result of causing sincere people to actually think about what they are being taught in this trinity doctrine and about just who Jesus actually is, we can often engage in an enthusiastic conversation about who God really is and that Jesus is in fact not God.
Point2 of this Point4 says - "He became also truly man, Jesus the Christ." Is this teaching really saying that God became Jesus? So when it says at Luke 1:30-33, 30So the angel said to her: “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. 31 And look! you will become pregnant and give birth to a son, and you are to name him Jesus. 32 This one will be great and will be called Son of the Most High, and Jehovah God will give him the throne of David his father, 33 and he will rule as King over the house of Jacob forever, and there will be no end to his Kingdom.” vs. 32, and will be called Son of the Most High? how can Jesus be called the Son of himself? Jehovah God will give him the throne? Jehovah gives himself a throne? In a prayer by some religions they say, "Mary, the mother of God." God has a mother? John 17:4 Jesus says, "I have glorified you on the earth, having finished the work you have given me to do." Jesus glorified himself? having finished the work he gave himself to do? also, Philippians 2:9 "For this very reason, God exalted him to a superior position and kindly gave him the name that is above every other name," God exalted himself to a superior position? Matthew 28:18 "Jesus approached and spoke to them, saying: “All authority has been given me in heaven and on the earth." He gave himself authority? At Revelation 1:1 it says, "A revelation by Jesus Christ, which God gave him" God gave himself a revelation? Revelation 3:21 says: "To the one who conquers I will grant to sit down with me on my throne, just as I conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne." He sat down with his Father (himself) on his own throne? Revelation 12:5 says: "And she gave birth to a son, a male, who is to shepherd all the nations with an iron rod. And her child was snatched away to God and to his throne." The son was snatched away to himself? When reasoning on the verbage here used, it doesn't make any sense that God would have made these statements. It is obvious from the wording that two people are being discussed here not just one! More is discussed on this matter in the Blog http://trinitybychristendom.blogspot.com/
Point3 of Point4 - perfectly exemplified the righteousness and love of God? suggests that Jesus exemplified his own qualities? How does he exemplify the love of God when God is love? How could it be said that Jesus exemplified God when he is God?
Point4 of Point4 - By His miracles He manifested God’s power and was attested as God’s promised Messiah. How could it be said that Jesus manifested God's power if he was God? and how could it be said that he attested as God's promised Messiah if he was God?
Point5 of Point4 - He suffered and died God died?
Point6 of Point4 - "was raised from the dead" God was raised from the dead? who resurrected God? Himself?
Point7 of Point4 or of Point9 (under "life, death & resurrection of Christ") - In Christ’s life of perfect obedience to God’s will - Christ is God? yet is being called on to be obedient to God's will?
Point8 of Point4 or of Point10 - God made Christ - If, as you claim, Christ is God, how is it that in Point 10 above, you mention that God made Christ?
You see? When you break the points down to a simple understanding, they either should make sense or they don't. This is the importance of reasoning on the scriptures, rather than just repeating unknown or unsubstantiated statements by memorization. 1 Corinthians 8:6 says: there is actually to us one God, the Father, from whom all things are and we for him; and there is one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things are and we through him.
